Squadron Leaders log 1

“Squadron Leaders Log, Star Date 47634.44 Lieutenant O’Shea reporting. I’m still not used to that but what do you do? So far, things seem to be going on normally. I think everyone is adjusting except me. New tricks and old dogs, as pop used to say.”

“At any rate, everyone is getting their hours up except for Chief T’ngall. She’s been going on about that shoulder of hers and whining about the inertia dampers in her fighter for the past couple of weeks, though the tech’s have taken it apart twice and I just finished putting it back together myself. I’m going to down check her until medical can check her out.”

“After that, we may have to revisit her suitability as a Razor pilot, but we’ll try to give her the benefit of the doubt.”

“With things going along well so far, I’ve gotten caught up on most of the technical reading and gotten my own hours in the simulators at 210. So far, about three quarters of that is in the Razor but I think I’m going to start spending more time in the Broadsword. According to some a couple of engineering sheets I’ve read, it’s a small matter of mechanics to upgrade the engines and thrusters for a bit more performance and hanging a new sensor suite in them.”

“Weapons can be upgraded from there, but we’ll start small so they’re not down for any long period of times. We’ll start with a level one diagnostic of the isolinear chips in the flight frame computer network and see if we have to put a new brain in her or not. That should be fun!”
