Jazzy wanted to get her thoughts in order before talking to John, and she was also starting to get hungry. She just wanted to get a bite to eat, before heading over uninvited to see John. She felt she that the other day, she could do that.

She grabbed a plate of food, and walked over to a small table and sat her plate down, literally within seconds, another tray hit the small table. This instantly annoyed her. "Aren't you suppose to be on duty." She asked looking at Simon.

"Chief MacManus is covering my lunch." He said as he took a seat.

A little rude she thought. As she started to take a small bite. After the bite she asked, after swallowing her food. "Do you need something, or you here to keep me company, again?" She asked, trying to hide her annoyance. Ensign Yost was very persistent.

Simon gave a small chuckle. "To keep you company, you seem like you need a friend to talk too." He suggested, not realizing that Jazzy had chosen John to be her partner.

"I appreciate the offer, I just need to work things out. Nothing security related." She said, as she took a few more bites from her plate.

"If you change your mind, I am here." Said Simon. Trying to play the cool friend, but deep down he liked her, thought she was pretty.

"Mister Yost, I think we need to talk," she said. Knowing she needed to talk to him. She knew he liked her. And he was making excuses to see her. In a small way it was flattering.

"Oh," said Simon, with a tone of hope in his voice.

"I think your getting the wrong impression about us, I'm seeing someone, and I am not interested in dating my staff. Your a great guy, but I feel I should be honest with you." She said, trying to take a direct approach. She hoped she did not crush him to harshly.

Simon was a little surprised. That was sudden, he thought. He was instantly annoyed, it was that hot shot fighter pilot. He noticed them being a flirtatious towards each other.

"Its only been a week." He said feeling a little defeated, but he was trying to be a friend.

"I know," she said.

"How can you be sure, he is the one." Asked Simon?

"I don't think its wise for us to have this conversation, I am going to be honest, I think I love him. I that's all I want to say about this." Said Jazzy, trying to point out, her heart was meant for another.

"You love him? Does he love you?" Ased Simon.

"I know he likes me, and I know you do. But Simon," she said, trying to let him down easy by using his first name.

"Simon, we need to maintain a professional line, I am your commanding officer, and I am not going to cross that line." She said, waiting to hear how he was going to respond. She could sense he was defeated.

"I understand," he said a little upset. He sat in his seat, trying to take a bite, but he was just playing with his food at this point.

"I'm sorry, but I can not offer you, what you desire." She said, trying to be nice to him. But she wanted to make sure she was clear.

"I get it." He said, he was not really sure what to say. He stood up and grabbed his plate. "If you will excuse me." He said feeling embarrassed and rejected.

"Simon," she said, feeling bad.

"Good day Lieutenant." He said, as he walked away.

Jazzy felt bad, but at the moment she needed to focus on her feelings, and now it appeared that she needed to make amends with Simon. She knew it would be best to give him to think.
